Coach Applications Now Open for 2017 Selects Teams

Home |

In 2016, Baseball Sask piloted a program to send a Pee Wee Selects team to the Baseball Canada 13U Nationals. This had a very successful result, therefore, we will now also be sending a Selects team to the 2017 Baseball Canada Bantam 15U and Junior 21U Championships.

We are now opening up applications to interested coaches that will lead these teams next summer. If you are interested in coaching either of these teams please fill out the following form along with your coaching resume/philosophy to Mike Ramage by February 15, 2017.

Baseball Canada held its Annual Convention in Fredericton, NB from October 26-29, 2016.

This included the Annual Awards Banquet where Baseball Canada handed out the annual hardware.

The final award was the 2016 Baseball Canada Province of the Year and we are very proud to announce that Baseball Sask won!

A Gold medal at the Baseball Canada Cup highlighted a banner year for Baseball Sask as we won Four Medals at National Championships, placed 1st among all provinces in Development Programs, second in official’s development and tied for first in Governance. Baseball Sask is now a 9-time winner of the Province of the Year Award.

We are incredibly proud that Team Sask are your 2016 Baseball Canada Cup CHAMPIONS!

Our squad was able to avenge their loss to Team BC in last years Gold Medal Game and were able to win tonight against Team BC by a score of 6-1.

Parker McRae was your Winning Pitcher tossing a gem of 5.2 IP with only 65 pitches. Dylan Bells came in to shut BC down throwing 1.1 IP and allowing only 1 H.

Leading the way offensively was Nolan Machibroda who went 3/4 with 3 RBI. Danny Berg had 2 RBI and Tyler McWillie had 1 RBI.

The team was led by the coaching staff of Greg Brons, Neil Hogg and Matt Kosteniuk with Terry Butler serving as the Chef de Mission.

This is only the second time ever Saskatchewan has won the Baseball Canada Cup.
