How to Register a Team in a Provincial Championship?

Below you will find the steps in properly registering your team for Provincials:

  • Be sure your team has completed your Membership Registration with Baseball Sask on our Online System. This is usually done by your Minor Ball Club Executive.
  • Print off and fill out the 2023 Provincial Registration Form (typed up or hand-printed in legible writing) on 8.5 x 14 Legal Sized Paper filling the entire page
  • 11U, 13U, 12U Girls, 14U Girls,  15U and 18U deadline to register for Provincials in June 5th
  • 22U and Senior deadline to register for Provincials is June 19th
  • 11U is still population based in entering a team (Details below on this page)
  • 13U, 15U, 18U and Senior is Ranking based. The Playoff Committee will determine what Category you will play based on your league games and tournament games. Therefore, do no check off any Category box.
  • It is the responsibility of your team to provide the Division Supervisor with all of your game scores to help in having your team ranked in the proper category to ensure meaningful games at Provincials.
  • Only properly certified coaches are eligible to be on the Provincial Roster on the team registration deadlines. Should a coach be listed on the roster and not be certified, that team will be fined immediately.
  • Include payment for the team fee detailed on the roster along with the filled out roster by the deadline

Options to Register Provincial Teams

  • MAIL – If sending in the mail, include payment for the team fee detailed on the roster along with the filled out roster by the deadline on 8.5 x 14 legal sized paper
  • E-MAIL – If sending by e-mail in a HIGH-QUALITY PDF (not a picture of your roster, no coffee stains, etc.) on 8.5 x 14 legal sized paper, you will also need to send an e-Transfer to mike@baseballsask.ca and include the Team Name, Head Coach and Division in the notes.  This option is likely the safest and assures you won’t need to reply on it arriving on time by snail mail.

NOTE: In order to be eligible for Provincial Playoffs, all players and coaches need to be registered members of Baseball Sask. This is usually taken care of by the Minor Ball Clubs across the Province. If you have any questions of whether you are registered or not, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL MINOR BALL CLUB President or Registrar.

Combining Centres (This only applies to the 11U division)

There are a series of results that apply in terms of a baseball centre moving up categories for zone playoffs as a result of combining centres.

The player’s centre population must be included with the originating centre.

Here is a list of the various scenarios that result from combining teams.

  1. Baseball centres classified as being other than AAA category may combine for provincial playoffs, provided that they shall be re-classified and moved to a higher category.
  2. Of the baseball centres that combine, the baseball centre in the highest category shall be designated the originating centre.
  3. For each baseball centre that combines with the originating centre, the originating centre must move up one category; and
  4. The number of baseball centres that may combine is limited to the number which will result in the originating centre being reclassified as AAA category.
  5. An exemption to the reclassification is that AA Tier 1, AA Tier 2, AA Tier 3 or AA Tier 4 category baseball centre may combine with one A2 category baseball centre without being reclassified if the total population of the two baseball centres which combine does not exceed the population limit of the category.
  6. AAA centres may not combine.
  7. Under no circumstances may more than 4 baseball centres combine.
