Mitch MacDonald of the Regina Red Sox has been named the 2010 MVP of the Western Major Baseball League.

Elemer Jerkovits has spent most of his life calling balls and strikes at baseball diamonds around the province of Saskatchewan. The 47 year-old native of Regina has stood behind home plate or manned the baselines for 35 years and given his time to the sport he loves.

The Regina Pacers won a SILVER medal at the 2010 Baseball Canada Bantam AAA Championship today. The host team from Vaughan, Ontario won the gold medal.
In the semi-final, the Pacers beat BC 3-0 to advance to the Baseball Canada Bantam AAA Gold medal Game where they face the host team from Vaughan, Ontario. Jeremy Sylvestre pitches 6-2/3 of no-hit baseball before Nathan Haroldson closes it out.
